CACL: FLOUrishing
The debate around Bill C-14, better known as Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) legislation, is complex. As Canadians attempt to assign a legal definition to suffering and what leads a good life, there has been a conspicuous absence of people who struggle with mental health or experience physical, intellectual, and cognitive disabilities.
Canadian Association for Community Living commissioned Adjacent Possibilities to capture portraits of two individuals as they reflect on the meaning of suffering and flourishing in their lives, and in doing so inject a nuanced understanding of what these concepts mean for MAID in Canada.
